- Cancer Research Institute The institute brings together researchers from various fields, including medicine, pharmacy, veterinary science, and other related field of science and promote cancer research, in order to elucidate essential malignant alteration mechanisms and to realize pre-emptive medication for cancer.
- Research Center for Child Mental Development The center, in collaboration with researchers and clinicians who specialize in broad range of fields of child psychiatry, from basic research to clinical treatment and support, works on child mental development disorder. The center also trains clinicians for child developmental disorder utilizing the finding of the research.
- Center for Cultural Resource Studies Tangible and intangible cultural heritage are in danger of extinction around the world because of economic development and globalization. Redefining the cultural heritages as “cultural resources” to create a new value, the center aims to conduct comprehensive research and diverse investigations on them, and develop methods to protect and utilize them.
- Bio-AFM Frontier Research Center The center aims to promote biological research with the use of the Kanazawa University-born revolutionary atomic force microscopy (AFM) techniques and technological development towards the next-generation of bio-AFM.
- Research Center for Sustainable Energy and Technology The center aims to become a core research center of green innovation for a recycle-oriented society supported by secure and sustainable energy production technology.
- Brain/Liver Interface Medicine Research Center To solve medical issues in aging society, the center aims to unravel etiology and pathological condition of disease when adulthood and old age and develop foundation for medical care toward the 22nd century through interdisciplinary approach mainly in brain/liver fields.
- Center for Urban Regional Studies The center aims to promote interdisciplinary joint research under the theme of “region,” create collaboration of people, organizations, and local governments who are working toward reginal revitalization/regeneration, and give back the research results to society.
- Research Center of Italian Mural Paintings In May 2010, Kanazawa University established this center to conduct multidisciplinary research in the field of Italian Mural Paintings. This center aims to contribute to the conservation of international cultural heritage by developing conservation techniques and studying mural paintings in partnership with Japanese/ Italian academic institutions. We also plan to apply research achievements above to other studies or educational programs.
